Addressing Homelessness

Our Experience

We took a pro-active, community-supported, best practices, systematic and partnership-based approach to addressing homelessness in Virginia Beach, Virginia. From a one-person staff in 2013 to a fully-functioning one-stop shop “Housing Resource Center” in 2018, we achieved significant advances in our ability to make homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring.

The Center has shelter for singles, permanent housing for singles, family shelter, day services, health services, an outreach team, a coordinated assessment team, and prevention assistance. Also located in the building is the department of Human Services, which provides integrated access to the wide range of mainstream and mental health services they provide.

We will use our experience designing and implementing the Virginia Beach system to assist you with all aspects of your system.
